Ireland adventure (North Coast)

Join Nick Page and local guide Neal Ritchie on on this 4 day journey to Ireland's dramatic Northern Coast.

The northern coast of Ireland is dramatic and beautiful.  We will be photographing seascapes, castles, epic rock formations and much more on this trip.  I will be teaming up with good friend, amazing photographer, and Irish native, Neal Ritchie, who will be serving as our guide and local translator.

We will be guiding you to the best locations, teaching in the field techniques, as well as having at least one post processing sessions where we can make sure you’re getting the most out of the files you are going home with.  Ireland is rugged, beautiful, and rich with history.

Itinerary:

Important note:   To make the most of this workshop we will be closely monitoring and evaluating weather patterns.  The weather will likely play a role in our locations for each sunrise and sunset.  The Itinerary is a tentative schedule and subject to change.

      Day 1 (Thursday, Aug 2nd)
We will be meeting in Portrush.  There we will sit down and have lunch together. We will have a meet and greet, talk about expectations and goals for the trip, as well as go over the plan for the next few days.  We then will depart to our shooting location - The Giant’s Causeway.

      Day 2  (Friday, Aug 3rd)
Will be photographing several locations on our second day, including the Dark hedges, the Causeway cliff path, and the Mussenden Temple.

      Day 3 (Saturday, Aug 4th)
The Dunluce Castle Glenveagh, Mount Errigel and Glenveagh National Park will be on the menu for our third day.

      Day 4 (Sunday, Aug 5th)
Our Final morning will conclude with a sunrise shoot at the Fanad Lighthouse, one of the most iconic lighthouses in Ireland.  We will have lunch together as a group, talk about what we learned throughout the trip, and say our goodbyes to those that have to travel. There may be an optional sunset shoot for those that are still in the area that evening.

What the trip is like?

Before the workshop begins, we’ll start a new Facebook group just for attendees.  You’ll meet everyone in the group (virtually) before we leave and be able to ask questions and prepare.  This will be where you can find someone to split a car/room with, etc.

This is not a lazy vacation.  Expect the alarm clock to go off EARLY.  We’ll grab a bite to eat together (if something is open yet) and then we’ll head off in caravans.  We are encouraging carpooling.  Parking will be limited, so the fewer cars we can take, the better.

Each day is different.  If we have good clouds during the day, we will have extended shooting hours.  If the clouds clear out, and a clear day spoils the photography, so we may only shoot morning and evening and night in which case we will utilize our time having some post processing time.  We’ll do our best to give you a plan of what each day will bring the night before, but everything depends on the weather.

We’ll stay together for the trip.  We’ll pick restaurants so we can all group up and enjoy each other’s company and review photos.  Since we’re all purchasing our own accommodations, you’re certainly welcome to venture off on your own a bit if that’s what you prefer.
