Palouse Photo Tour and Workshops 2019
2019 Palouse photo tour and workshop dates announced!
Now accepting photo tour registrations!!!
I am happy to announce that I will again be leading a Palouse and Blue mountain area photo tour in 2019. I am going to take you to all my favorite spots in the area, help you get the shot, and help take your image editing to the next level.
The Palouse region of Eastern Washington is some of the most beautiful and unique rural farmlands in the world. Photographers come from all over the world to witness the rolling hills of Wheat, canola, peas and other crops. On this workshop we will visit both of the two most popular locations on the Palouse, Palouse falls, and Steptoe Butte. We will capture the blue and golden hours at these locations and come home with amazing images. We will also visit abandoned structures, old rusty vehicles long forgotten, iconic barns, as well as vistas with a view of the Blue mountains in the distance. If the weather permits, we will also shoot the night sky.
Along the way I will not only be your guide but your teacher. I want to make sure that we are in the right place at the right time, AND you come home with images you can be proud of! This will be a combination of photo tour, and in the field instruction with hands on training with your equipment.
During the down time during the middle of the day, we will have some post processing classroom time, where I will share some of my editing tips, tricks and techniques.
This is one of the least physically demanding tours I lead. There are very little hikes on this workshop with the exception of Palouse Falls which can require getting fairly close to some cliffs to get the shot.
What Is Included:
Guided tour and one on one instruction with me, Nick Page
Hot hotel breakfasts for those that purchase lodging.
Snacks and drinks while we are out on location
Three nights Lodging during the workshop (based on double occupancy - Single rooms available at additional price)
2 post processing sessions where I can share my workflow and give feedback on your images
May 20th-23rd - 1 spot left
What to expect:
We will be getting up early to catch sunrises, shooting during the golden light of the early mornings. Then after a short nap, post processing during the harsh light of mid day. I lead these tours like I lead my own photo trips. I try and make the most of the conditions we are given. We will shoot what is the most photogenic given the weather and light we have that day. I love these earlier May dates because often times we can have some fairly dynamic light with Thunderstorms rolling through the Area.
From a physical ability standpoint, this is the easiest workshop I lead. Many of our shooting locations require very little hiking or walking from the car, with Palouse falls being the exception where we will be shooting from high cliffs above the falls. the difficulty is low, but those with a fear of hights might want to shoot from the fenced area.
