Painted Layers

The Painted Hills is a special place. Millions of years of volcanic ash deposits from cascade eruptions has literally “Painted” the soil deposits of eastern Oregon. I captured this image in 2019 during a golden hour evening shoot. The way the evening light gives dimension to the layers without overpowering the subtle colors is magical.

This is a limited edition print. Only 15 of each size will ever be produced.
